My colleagues and I buy food at Simply Asia Cavendish at least weekly. Every now and then the store is busy and our food takes as much as 30 min to make. We understand that this will occur sometimes. It is, however, becoming more frequent that we call in and place our order and arrive to collect 30min later to find that the order hasnt even begun being prepared because someone didnt enter it on the computer. The really upsetting event was a broken card machine not printing a receipt. I paid for the food by card and after entering my pin and receiving my SMS confirmation from the bank, I was told the machine is not printing receipts. I asked the lady if she's okay with that because i dont need a receipt and as long as she's okay with it I will take my food and go. I even confirmed to her that i had gotten the sms confirming the payment. She said thats okay because she can see that the payment went through. A few hours later the same lady called me to inform me that the machine is now working and all the other client's receipts came out the machine except mine. I then said that I had a SMS confirmation and Im not going to make payment again because i know the payment went through successfully. She then asked if i can come in to the store and show them my sms. My issue is that they are presuming the payment didnt go through with no evidence of that. i am being inconvenienced because their machine is faulty. anyway, i went to the store last night. I met nigel, who said he's not saying the payment didnt go through. he is assuming that because a receipt didnt come out the machine. he then said he can check their payments but its not worth him doing it now, so he will do it at the end of the day and call me back the following day only if there was an issue. another big problem for me. nigel expects me to put in a whole lot of effort by going in to the store and justifying my payment , including showing him the sms confirmation which contains personal information from my bank. but nigel wont do a check to see if he actually got the money. instead, he asks me to check if a received another sms saying that the payment was unsuccessful, claiming that this has happened before and customers usually get a second sms. never have i ever received a second sms from my bank saying that payment was unsuccessful after they have just confirmed that it was successful. i think the banks are a little more professional and efficient than that. But Nigel was sure and asked me more than once to check for a second sms. this is rediculous. i have had previosu experiences with nigel that were unpleasant because he is generaaly pretty rude, but i enjoy the food and have overlooked his attitude because he isnt a chef or manager. i understand that technical problems happen sometimes, but the way this was handled is disappointing and make me want to not buy food there because the service is pathetic even though the food is really tasty. i think this issue is worth noting.
