Had the pleasure of hosting the company annual Christmas lunch at Cargill's this year. What a wonderful experience and confirmation that the cuisine at this establishment is definitely amongst the best that is to be found in Cape Town. All the dishes were, by general agreement amongst the guests, cooked to perfection. The duck was melt-in-the-mouth quality with an orange sauce that complemented the richness of the meat perfectly while the beef, served perfectly medium-rare, was accompanied by a jus that had depth of flavour only found after long and slow reduction. Vegetables were served a point and the variety complemented the various main courses with flair. Desserts were similarly perfectly executed and paired with an excellent dessert wine suggested by the Patron. A restaurant to be re-visited often.

This is truly a gem in the Southern suburbs. A small menu of classical dishes (I highly recommend the figs with Gorgonzola and the duck) complimented by an interesting wine list and very friendly service.
