They also go as the good looking chef and the rude wife! | By Lew | Monday, 26 March 2012
British humour mixed with wonderfully fresh innovative and delicious lunches, they no longer open in the evenings, on the outskirts of the village of Stanford, quietly becoming a culinary haven, yet only 15 minutes from Hermanus. Seasonal cuisine using the best produce, interesting options, notably included a stilton pannacotta,as a starter, whilst their little deli 'The Larder' is worth exploring for some great items to take home. We love it!
Yum, yum ,pigs bum!!! | By Debbie | Wednesday, 08 February 2012
You will understand the title when you visit this wonderful little gem. The food is freshly made by the owner/chef and is proudly displayed upon the blackboard.Everything tasty fantastic and the Sunday lunches are very popular. It is a small restaurant,up a dirt track , just before you enter Stanford. The views are stunning and it is lovely to sit on the terrace under the vines on a sunny day. You will be greeted like a long lost friends by the bubbly Innes, owner and wife of chef ! Do not be in a hurry, this is an occassion not just a meal. You will be tempted to enjoy all 3 courses and they are generous portions. Lovely dishes to try are the kidneys on chive rostie (spelling!!!), the roast fillet with all the trimmings, and the superb lemon tart, literally tart not sweet, as it should be . The wine list is not huge but something for all tastes. You must experince this, you will not be sorry but remember to BOOK, it is very popular and no credit cards accepted-Enjoy!
