Walking into a family home | By Karine | Sunday, 06 May 2012
Walking into Terroir, is like being being welcome back into the house of a family member you have not seen in a while, you almost want to kick off your shoes and walk into the kitchen!
The menu is always a secure too, we were a table of 6 and all loved our meal, from starter to finish. Great winelist too. My highlight the wild mushroom risotto, that I want to eat again today, tomorrow... and until I go back.
Service is brilliant, our waitress was knowledgeable, fun and you almost want to give her a big hug when leaving.
Liked the laid back vibe | By david | Friday, 04 March 2011
Very nice laid back vibe and charming informal service outside for this summer lunch. A lot of the fellow diners were golfers straight off the course. We found the food relatively simple compared with the other 3 star winery restaurants in the area, and well executed. Thankfully the sauces not as rich as suggested in the book. Very well chosen wine list but the Klein Zalze by the large glass covered most tastes. Our 3 courses for 2 with plenty of wine came to R813.
Good but now too expensive | By Catherine | Wednesday, 26 January 2011
Annually we go to Terroir with the same friends from London. This time we and the Londoners were shocked by the prices. The Londoners felt R80 for a starter and R180 for mains was very high even by London prices. And this was the first time we have been to Terroir and found the place half empty. They also felt that the non-meat or vegetarian meals were inadequate and not thoughful. Meat meals were good as always, as was the desert.
