Good breakfast spot | By Jacques | Wednesday, 15 February 2012
Went there for the first time last week for breakfast, and the place seemed to be the busiest in that area - not bad, given the opposition. I did the health breakfast, which was a good choice - good muesli with lots of honey mixed in, and plain yoghurt with the fruit neatly placed on top of it. Nice presentation. The wife had French toast, which was a bit over-spiced. Coffee was very good, up there with the best I've had in Cape Town. A negative was the garbage truck that did Kloof Street while we were eating and stinked up the area, but that can't be blamed on the restaurant. Will return.
Great breakfast with the crowds | By Tony | Saturday, 02 April 2011
No booking we got lucky at 09h45 on a Saturday - don't leave it to chance! The pastry bar is to die for and we couldn't wait so got stuck into a pain au chocolat whilst ordering! Very good cappuccinos, an excellent muesli plate, fabulous breads - this is a good one... Service OK needs some work, good to see Georgio clearing tables even if he didn't look happy doing it! It will get there...
Best breakfast in town | By Motor | Tuesday, 01 February 2011
Kloof Street in Cape Town is rapidly becoming one of the best places to find an excellent meal. Cafe Milano - the new creation of Giorgio from 95 Keerom and Carne has recently opened and so to try out their breakfast on a Sunday.
Superb friendly service, excellent coffee, lovely buttery croissant, creamy scrambled eggs with the crispiest bacon served on delicious baked on the premises rye toast. Their freshly squeezed pineapple juice is thick and unsullied by any diluents.
They have a superb pastry chef and their 60% rye bread @ R45 a loaf may seem a bit expensive, but 2 days later it's still as delicious as it was when purchased
