I read the above review and can agree with every word. We went there a few years ago as it was mean't to be a Prue Leith trained restaurant and it was not too bad, but we have been back a few times and it just gets worse and worse. We only go back as we love the setting and we hope that things will improve but sadly no! So needless to say we won't go back again. There is no order, there is no service and the food is terrible, Best to be avoided at all costs, except perhaps for a drink and a look at the views !!!!
Thank goodness for the view! | By Simone | Tuesday, 03 January 2012
This was possibly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Upon arrival at the tatty room we waited 10 minutes to be seated by one of the two waiters on duty. After being seated we waited another 15 minutes for menus - in the end my husband got up and found them himself. After looking at the menu we waited 10 minutes for our drink orders to be taken, and this only after I had called out to the disinterested waiter who had yet to acknowledge our presence. I ordered the Quinoa drizzled with sundried tomatoes (one of two vegetarian options). It was completely tasteless, was not drizzled with anything, and the only way I could eat it was by mixing in some cabbage that had been brought with my husband's meal. For this 'pleasure' I was overcharged R65. At one point during our meal the two waiters began to argue about which table would be served by which waiter. Not because they wanted to serve as many tables as possible, but because they did NOT want to serve tables. The only thing going for this run down, over-priced, horribly serviced restaurant was the beautiful scenery out the wrap-around windows. Thank goodness for the view!
